Hello, my name is Chaz Stephens and this is Missed Connections presented by Create Tulsa and The Tulsa Performing Arts Center. Missed Connections is a podcast that focuses on Tulsa and the amazing artists that call it home.

So join us for the next six episodes to meet the shakers in our city.

Each episode will feature artists from different mediums discussing topics surrounding how they got started, what obstacles they faced, and what resources they accessed

To get where they are today.

The mission of this podcast is all about introducing people to one another. The City of Tulsa is growing and there are some silent success stories we believe need a platform to introduce themselves and their talent to the world. Here at Missed Connections, we want to bring you episodes that focus on folks who haven’t met before but somehow are usually one a degree away from separation from each other.

We hope to bring artists, venues, and audiences together to tear down gates and build each other up for a better Tulsa

Since this is our first episode, I wanted to make sure I introduce myself as well.In Tulsa’s art scene, I’m better known as the multimedia artist ThunderWof. Born and raised in Tulsa, I have had the privilege of watching the growth of our beautiful city, so I wanted our first episode to be about “Appearance”.

Today's episode will feature two amazing guests. Kellen James a Tulsa native and recently became the new owner of Silhouette Sneakers and Art in the Historic Greenwood District. Kellen’s vision is for Silohuotte to be a space where local designers and artists can shop for cool outfits, sell their merchandise, and host events.

Our second guess is Corey Pearson, designer and founder of CMYLE clothing here in Tulsa. Corey has had great success at navigating as an artist with a thriving brand since 2021. Corey’s love of positive thinking and hard work mixed in with fun eye-catching graphics has made waves amongst Tulsans.

We’ll discuss, how designers and artists should approach local businesses, what resources are available and needed in their community, and of course who their best-dressed Tulsans are.

My name is Chaz ThunderWof Stephens

And this is Missed Connections.
