"Murder at Midnight" is a thrilling old-time radio series that aired in 1946, featuring macabre tales of suspense often with a supernatural twist. Produced in New York, the show was directed by Anton M. Leder and hosted by Raymond Morgan, who delivered chilling introductions over Charles Paul's haunting organ theme. The opening lines set the eerie tone: "Midnight, the witching hour when the night is darkest, our fears the strongest, and our strength at its lowest ebb. Midnight, when the graves gape open and death strikes." The series produced 50 episodes, with ten rerun on Mutual in 1950. Its stories were penned by talented writers like Robert Newman, Joseph Ruscoll, Max Ehrlich, and William Norwood.
