Thank you for joining me as we learn about the connection between Passover, First Fruits, Shavuot (pronounced shav-oo-oat) and Pentecost. As part of understanding and observing the festivals that God has appointed for us to observe, we count the Omer (pronounced oh-mare) today and then have our daily Bible reading session!

Today's reading covers 1 Kings Chapter 17. We will read about God protecting and providing for His prophet, Elijah, by first sending birds to bring him food and then by providing food supernaturally for a woman whose husband had died, her son, and Elijah! In our discussion today we will talk about how the woman needed to first prepare food for Elijah and THEN there would be enough food for her and her son. We will discuss that it is important to remember that FIRST we give God our best and THEN there will always be enough for US, not the other way around! We will be reminded once again that Jesus teaches us to seek FIRST the Kingdom of God and then what we need will be provided for us! Obedience first, provision for us after!
