In Season Two of her true crime series, The God Hook, journalist Carol Costello investigates the complex case of the Ohio Craigslist Killings—and in doing so, unearths the untold story of the crimes that preceded the murders—and the victims who’ve never received justice. Richard Beasley was convicted of murdering three men and attempting to kill a fourth in the fall of 2011, but before that heinous spree, authorities were building a human trafficking case against him. Now, working with the case's prosecutor, a county sheriff, and many closely involved sources, Carol examines previously unknown details of Beasley’s alleged crimes, and how he used the God Hook to lure his victims and bend them to his will. In Season One of this podcast, Blind Rage, journalist Carol Costello revisits the first big assignment she covered as a 22-year-old, novice reporter: Phyllis Cottles’ brutal attack. Psychologists call them “Triumphant Survivors,” but Phyllis Cottle was more than a survivor, she used this crime to better herself and the world around her. One of the best things about having a relationship with God is that He speaks to us personally, right where we are at. This week I will challenge the status quo of many Christian housewives who may be going to their husband with their troubles and trials first, instead of taking all of her cares directly to Jesus and trusting that she will hear from Him. Are you feeling resistance from your children—or even your spouse—as you step into leadership or obedience to God’s call on your life? In today’s episode, I’m talking to every Christian mom who’s trying to lead her family with love and conviction—but keeps bumping into disapproval, distance, or doubt from the very people she loves most. Here’s the truth: You don’t need their approval to follow God. And leading your home doesn’t mean staying silent. It means going first—with gentleness, wisdom, and peace. We’re covering: What to do when your children don’t like the direction you’re heading How to lead without fighting The surprising gift of being “unavailable” to your family sometimes Why obedience to God often brings growth to those around you You can lead your home with confidence and stay rooted in grace—even when it’s hard. HI Everyone! This was a really fun episode to share with you. Have you ever noticed what happens when you say words out loud and write them down. This is not a name it and claim it episode! This is about how writing it down and hearing your own voice speak words that are on your heart and mind gives you an opportunity to hear and see them, and to discern whether they are right and true according to the Bible. Saying words out loud can make them more tangible so we want to be noticing our words and discipline our thoughts. Without shame, check and see are my thoughts in line with scripture? If not, come boldly to God and confess them and ask Him to help you think His thoughts. Speaking truth is powerful! What words do you want to be teaching yourself to say on purpose?
