So many powerful lessons in these verses! Bryan brings out the lessons we can learn from Daniel and his friends choosing to set themselves apart through their food.

By looking beyond the surface of these verses, we can start to see the resolve of Daniel and his friends when they encounter the fiery furnace and the lions' den. They didn't wake up one day and decide to take on the king and his laws, they started in small ways early in their lives.

Bryan VanHaitsma is the digital media director for Revive Our Hearts. He studied at Hope College in Michigan and Jerusalem University College in Israel. He has a passion for digging into Scriptures that we often find perplexing, helping us understand why that story might be included, and what we are supposed to do in light of that story.
