Alice Coachman Davis was the first Black woman to win an Olympic gold medal.

She attended Tuskegee Preparatory and Albany State College, and went from cleaning sports facilities to becoming a teacher and track-and-field instructor, to dominating in the high jump to become an Olympic gold medalist.
