Guess what? Everyone enters this world as a single human being not in a relationship, not married, or attached. But somewhere along the way, there becomes a perception on both sides that it's uncomfortable in certain social settings for single and marred people to dwell together. As Life and Relationship Coaches and Professional Matchmakers, The Matchmaking DUO's Kelli Fisher and Tana Gilmore set the record straight by stating what so many people on both sides have shared with them, and some things to think about to make these gatherings more comfortable. Whether it's the good old end of the year holiday parties, that wedding where you're automatically put at the dreaded "singles table" in the back corner with no option for a +1, a cookout hosted by family or a friend who is now married, or that evening work function or bonus trip you won where everyone gets to meet all the spouses or significant others. Is there a need for singles to be apprehensive about showing up solo for fear of being left in the corner with the wives giving the side eye as if they're the plague or automatically thinking they must want their man? Or is it all in the mind? Married couples when is the last time you made an extra effort to initiate conversation with a single person in the room to say hello and see what you might have in common? Ultimately, everyone can arrive at these functions and have a good time if their mindset is where it needs to be and each person makes an extra effort to show love and include everyone regardless of their marital status. Tune in to hear The Matchmaking DUO's thoughts on the matter. What do you think? Here's to LOVE!! Music by Sharla K.…
In today's episode, The Matchmaking DUO's Kelli Fisher and Tana Gilmore discuss how being transparent and authentic is important in all forms of relationships. But how does one go about it without sharing too much or too little? How do you transition from being the leader and the "go-to" person to sharing more personal details about yourself, your situation, and even what you might need? Yes it will take a little getting used to. But on the other side awaits deeper emotional connections and a community of people who can be there for you and show up knowing what you need and how you need it. Exhale, we hear your sigh of relief! Tune in for an honest discussion around the topic and tips to help you move forward. Here's to LOVE!! Music by: Sharla K.…
In today's episode, The Matchmaking DUO's Kelli Fisher and Tana Gilmore talk about the importance of being flexible. As Certified Life/Relationship Coaches and Professional Matchmakers, they noticed over time how the most successful people in love and life have many things in common; one of which is the ability to have an open mind, embrace new opportunities, and be open to seeing things differently with a belief that there are many points of view. Being rigid often stifles growth and even in relationships can appear as if the person doesn't care, isn't interested in hearing another's viewpoint, or even unwilling to consider others wants and needs because when compared to "the routine" that works and is in place, everything else is a non-factor. Are there areas in your life that can be more fluid? The answer should always be YES! It doesn't mean that you don't have requirements but often the solution to many challenges in life are to look at it in unconventional ways. Being flexible makes the journey much more interesting and fun! Wouldn't you agree? Here's to LOVE! Music by: Sharla K.…
