Podfest Expo is the world's largest podcast conference- they even hold the Guinness Book of World Records for 2 years in a row!!! Today we talk to Chris about how Podfest Expo started as a grassroots event and grew to the "must-attend" event it is today.

- Listen to the community and design what they want. Give ownership to the community. Community comes first.
- Chris' advice to new podcasters comes from his book called “Start Ugly”. Start ugly and learn along the process- 1)get rid of failure concept- trial & error. Get an education about podcasting. 2)Biggest podcasters are not on their first concept- they pivot and grow. 3)Look at 10 downloads- how can I love on these individuals, nurture community and grow to 15.
- It is crucial that podcasters meet one & other. 1) connect with peers 2) see what is going on across the industry 3) trade shows to see what is happening across the industry.
