Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Jennifer Nagel, MA, RCC studied Psychology in university and found that the best learning came from life experience and doing the work she is so passionate about. Writing about reciprocity and authenticity comes from her first-hand experience of learning from and with the people and communities she works with. Jennifer is a Registered Clinical Counsellor working with individuals, couples, and families in private practice and provides clinical supervision for other therapists. She has helped many people to show up more authentically in their personal and professional lives. An avid traveller she teaches professional and personal growth programs using the Satir Model in Canada, China, Kenya, and Thailand. Jennifer is a member of the British Columbia Association for Clinical Counsellors, the Virginia Satir Global Network, and is a clinical member of and Director of Trainer Development for the Satir Institute of the Pacific. She is also a senior faculty member of the Banmen Satir China Management Center. Jennifer is the author of Magic in the Muck: Finding Grace in Chaos and the collaborative book, Therapists are Human Too: The Healing Journey of Reciprocity. She is also a contributing author to Virginia Satir’s Evolving Legacy: Transformative Therapy with a Body-Mind Connection. She crossed the Indian Ocean by sailboat to Thailand and Malaysia where she created a backpackers remote islands tour business for 2 years. She then travelled alone to Laos and Cambodia and then flew to Vancouver Canada, to join another boat and sail the Baja of Mexico, and the Sea of Cortez. Her circumnavigation was complete when she flew the final leg from Mexico City back to the UK. She presently lives in Puerto Vallarta where she met her Mexican Fiancé who was a Salsa and Latin dance instructor. She discovered unconditional love with him and lived live to the full, dancing Salsa, Cumbia, and the Cha Cha every week along with the live Cuban band in Bodeguita Cuban club in Puerto Vallarta. He recently passed and this inspired her to start this podcast show to inspire other people to live a life on purpose and in joy and with no regrets! The last 3 years in Puerto Vallarta have been the best years of her life, at a time when many where experiencing the opposite. She is a dual citizen of the UK and Canada.
