She worked as a nurse in the military, and in general nursing, and is a poet. Susan is the author of the book “Poetic Expressions in Nursing: Sharing the Caring.” Susan reads a few poems from her book, which is dedicated to nursing and recounts some of her experiences working in the field. She talks about the haiku poetry workshops she hosts and the healing power of creativity. Writing or experiencing poetry and the literary arts can help reduce stress, reduce anxiety and depression and promote a positive mindset.
