Isaiah 1:1-6
The LORD God begins to warn the Jewish people, the north kingdom of Israel in particular, about coming judgment. The description of Israel acknowledges the depth of their rebellion against God as well as numerous specific sins of a very dark nature. Isaiah compares Israel to a desperately sick human body. We look at the prophetic technique known as prolepsis; a very important style that Isaiah uses often.
