In Episode 5 the team discusses one of their most memorable shows produced on the Battle at Vimy Ridge that was fought in April 1917 with the focus on the underground war that was key to the Canadian victory. Special guest is ANDY HAWKINS from the Durand Group, a UK based tunnelling team that took Professor David O'Keefe and filmmaker Wayne Abbott deep into the tunnels under Vimy Ridge. It's an extraordinary story and an amazing feat of engineering to dig miles of tunnels that still exist today. Learn about how the different tunnel systems were designed and built, how they impacted the battle and even about some of the unusual graffiti the soldiers left behind. Also, the team will discuss one of the most dramatic scenes ever shot during a War Junk episode when they were down 100 feet under Vimy Ridge in narrow tunnels and come face to face with explosives left after the battle over 100 years ago. Part 2 will stream next week focusing on the personal artifacts found in the tunnels.
