In September 2023, Andrew Vassiliadis broke the news that San Diego Loyal, the USL Championship team where he served as Chairman, would cease operations at the end of the season. In four short years, Andrew built a team and community that will be remembered as a true embodiment of its namesake. Andrew knew the Loyal were a story worth preserving and this summer he released 619 copies of The Loyal Legacy, a coffee table book honoring every detail of the team's existence. Our conversation came after Andrew kindly agreed to deliver a copy to me while I stopped in San Diego on my roadtrip.
