Dream Theater has a new album, “Parasomnia” (listen to find out what it means), and a returning drummer! Founding drummer Mike Portnoy is BACK, and he and founding guitarist John Petrucci share the deets on how exactly this happened! They reveal Mike Mangini’s reaction to Portnoy’s return, what happened the first time Portnoy and Dream Theater got in a room together after some 13 years apart, and why making a new album was number one on the agenda. They talk about their first gig back, the significance of it being at the O2 Arena in London, and what they have planned for their 2025 tour dates (big reveal at the end)! Plus, Mike and John discuss friendship, family, band dynamics, and chemistry, and give a great BTS look at the creative process behind “Parasomnia.”
