Inner Critic: Meeting the Voice That’s Holding You Back

“Your inner critic isn’t trying to hurt you. It’s trying to protect a younger version of you who didn’t feel safe.”

In this solo episode, Fiona Walsh takes you into the deeper layers of the inner critic. The part of you that gets loud when you’re triggered, stretched, or under pressure. These inner voices often sound like perfectionism, shame, control, or overthinking. But underneath it all? They’re just scared parts doing their best to protect you.

Through the frameworks of Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Positive Intelligence, Fiona explores how these parts form, why they persist, and what it takes to stop spiraling and start leading from your grounded, authentic self. This episode is an invitation to stop trying to silence the voice in your head and start understanding what it’s really trying to say.

Today on Limitless:

- Why your inner critic gets loud when you're stressed, exposed, or approaching growth

- The 5 most common protector parts: Pleaser, Overthinker, Achiever, Controller, Perfectionist

- How these patterns form in childhood and why they’re still running your inner world

- How the critic impacts leadership, relationships, rest, and regulation

- What it looks like to shift from managing your critic to leading it with compassion

- The connection between nervous system safety and true self-leadership

If you’ve ever said “I’ve done all the work.. Why do I still feel this way?”

This episode will feel like an exhale.

You’re not broken.

You’re just carrying outdated protection patterns.

It’s time to meet them, lead them, and come home to yourself.
