News around the NFL never sleeps and that's why you enter the limits of Scoop City! The Athletic's Senior NFL Insider, Dianna Russini, shares the latest information from the contract discussions between star defensive end Trey Hendrickson and the Cincinnati Bengals. On Monday morning, Hendrickson and his camp released a statement to ESPN saying in part, "No communication has taken place between my camp and the organization post draft." Dianna reports that the Bengals feel like things have moved in a positive direction and there's still hope to agree with Hendrickson on a new contract.

Elsewhere around the league, over the weekend, New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr abruptly retired. Carr cited a degenerative change in an injury to his rotator cuff. Earlier this offseason, it was reported that Carr was considering undergoing surgery that would require him to miss the 2025 season. Carr gives up a $30 million fully-guaranteed base salary, but will keep the $10 million roster bonus he earned in March. It was also reported that the Saints will not seek to recover any of the $28.5 million signing bonus he made in 2023. Former Saints QB Chase Daniel reacts to Carr's retirement and discusses his career.

And, our first game of the 2025 NFL schedule was released. In game one of the 2025 season, the Philadelphia Eagles will host the Dallas Cowboys. Dianna and Chase react to the news.

On the field, teams met for rookie minicamp over the weekend. The Cleveland Browns were all the buzz on social media with which rookie quarterback was taking first-team reps. Dillon Gabriel started minicamp by taking first-team reps, but Shedeur Sanders also took his turn with the first team. Plus, Dianna and Chase discuss the viral moment with Jacksonville Jaguars first-round draft pick Travis Hunter. The 2nd overall selection went viral for being an A+ traveler.
