Welcome to “Beat The Mental Health Out Of It!” with your host, The DEFECTIVE Schizoaffective!

The show where I have candid, unscripted discussions about everything related to mental health with a twist of humor and no-holds-barred!

Join me for an episode I have always wanted to do with my Great Uncle, MARC WICHMAN, a 79-year-old, Vietnam veteran with a wonderful sense of humor and an incredibly generous heart!

In this episode, I explore a variety of fascinating, and even controversial topics with my Uncle, including:

- The hardship and abuse he endured throughout his childhood, ultimately influencing him to volunteer to fight in the Vietnam War

- Many disturbing stories and experiences (some in graphic detail) of his time as a soldier in the war and the poor reception the veterans received when he returned to the United States

- The choice he had between prison or therapy after an unfortunate event when he returned home... and how therapy literally saved his life

- Controversial details surrounding the Vietnam War that are not often shared to the public

- Why so many soldiers cannot adjust to civilian life after war or recover from their PTSD

- His personal approach to life, death, societal stigmas and the unique perception he has of the world after seeing so much transpire in his lifetime

- How he has managed to live on with PTSD after the war and ultimately live a very fulfilled and pleasant life with his lovely wife and my Great Aunt, Ann

We also chat about many war films and how "accurate" they are to the experience many soldiers had in Vietnam, all of the amazing pets we've lost over the years, and the healing power of a stable, supportive household in times of great distress.

Tune in for a blend of humor, heart, and rhythmic insights as we "Beat The Mental Health Out Of It!" with my Great Uncle Marc Wichman!
