Unlike human concepts of deity, our God doesn't require temples or service as though lacking anything. This fundamental understanding reshapes our entire approach to worship and service, protecting us from spiritual arrogance and revealing that every opportunity to serve God is actually His grace extended to us.
What exceptional comfort this brings during economically turbulent times! We serve a God who doesn't need the stock market, banking systems, or favorable economic conditions to provide for His children. While we instinctively look to jobs and investments for security, the deeper reality is that God remains the ultimate provider behind these mechanisms. He gives strength to obtain wealth and supplies all needs according to His riches in glory.
Perhaps most encouraging is the promise that resonated throughout our prayer time: "Our latter days are greater than our former days." Despite present trials, we can trust that the self-sufficient God holds our future with plans for good, not disaster. This allows us to declare with confidence that what is to come surpasses what has been.
