This podcast explores how the recent history between the May 17 Sun/Uranus conjunction & the May 24 Mercury/Uranus conjunction in Taurus, & the May 29/30 superior conjunction of the Sun with Mercury direct in Gemini have awakened us through unexpected sudden revelations--of the “I can see clearly now” kind--between then and now.
Awakened us to what? Well, when we look at the symbolism--from the announcement on May 18 of former president Joe Biden’s stage 4 prostate cancer to May 22’s U.S. House passage of its “friendly to the rich” budget reconciliation bill & May 24’s yet again flip flop on tariffs by President Trump—we start to see a pattern.
And that pattern, combined with announcements made between May 28-30--including a court ruling banning Trump’s on-again-off-again tariffs followed by a swift reversal of that ruling, along with the announcement of pardons for convicted individuals who have donated bigly to Trump--starts to smell like something’s rotten in Denmark.
What we may have missed the first two Sun & Mercury conjunctions to Uranus in Taurus, that’s inherent now in this latest Sun/Mercury get together in Gemini, is the sleight of hand deceit and deception that’s been going on all along.
This clearly correlate Gemini’s archetypal role & reputation as the trickster, who uses more devious ways to fool those around him. What’s different now, however, is the fact that deceit usually takes place behind the scenes.
But when we equate Biden’s sudden announcement on May 18 with the symbolic nature of the currently ongoing U.S. Pluto return, we glean from the symbolism that something that’s been hidden for a long time has now become obvious. Since the prostate is archetypally aligned with Pluto’s Scorpio, & Biden’s illness was reportedly long in the making but unknown to his doctors, this sudden revelation symbolizes how the U.S. has likewise been rotting from the inside out for quite some time & we simply never noticed.
Now, however, all of these recent Sun, Mercury, & Uranus aspects in the sky have alerted us to the fact that this current president’s grift-- now so commonplace, so boldly out in the open--is so easily accepted by those who could/should call it out for what it is. As the rest of us begin to understand with greater clarity that the emperor truly has NO clothes, we likewise recognize those who benefit from both his grift & his delusions.
So, as we wax into this month’s first quarter “crisis in action” lunar square of the Virgo Moon to the Gemini Sun on June 2--accompanied by June 1’s Venus/Chiron/Eris conjunction in Aries—we now see the tension between verifiable Virgoan facts & Geminian casual passage of non-verified information. And how much of the latter was behind such “you can’t have possibly missed it” glaringly obvious financial transactions by now.
Venus moves into its own sign of Taurus June 5/6, depending on your time zone, while Mercury conjoins Jupiter in Gemini June 8. Shortly after, Mercury will enter the Moon-ruled sign of Cancer June 8, & Jupiter follows suit on June 9. Our emotional sensitivity heightened, we then may begin to expand our intuitive capabilities to see beyond our more boundaried local scenario into wider, longer-term implications for the future.

We discuss how this August 9 Aquarius Full Moon reflects the light of the Leo Sun back onto itself, thus exposing its shadow side: Excessive pride & arrogance. The Aquarius Moon—when it arrives at exactly 17-degrees of Sun-ruled Leo at 12:55 a.m. PT & 3:55 a.m. ET on August 9--then asks the Leo Sun to release any hubristic tendencies to act like a powerful but selfish & uncaring king. This lunation’s square to Juno in Scorpio mirrors back to us the tension of the current power struggle over whether America is still based on a partnership between its government--created originally by & for the people--or a monarchy under the rule of a tyrannical king. This lunation makes clear we’re still under the recurrence of energies of the U.S. natal Sibly birth chart’s Pluto return, begun in February 2022, that kicked off its original quest for independence. And that we’ve got a long way still to go, but that if we band together against such uncaring energies which disrespect our right to individual freedoms, only then can we save our nation from reverting to its original roots before its creation, that of an selfish & unstable monarch. This week’s podcast recaps the Astro News You Can Use from the beginning of this month’s lunar cycle on July 24--because only by looking back can we know how we’ve arrived at where we are today, which, in turn, helps us better plan our future. We look at the deeper meaning of the current Leo New Moon’s monthly lunar cycle, which asked us to plant seeds that honor our individual, creative, solar selves on July 24. Next, we note how its opposition then to Pluto in Aquarius portended power struggles, & how it has manifested thus far. Especially as we waxed past the Sun/Mercury retrograde inferior conjunction of July 31, the first quarter monthly “crisis in action” waxing square of the Scorpio Moon to the Leo Sun, & the delusional square of Venus to Neptune & the dissatisfying one to Saturn August 1 & 2. We note the many announcements made since this Sun/Mercury Rx conjunction—starting with Donald Trump’s firing of the commissioner of the Bureau of Labor & Statistics on August 1. Such a move, on the heels of the Venus squares to Saturn & Neptune, reeked of a king who chose to kill the messenger rather than pay attention to the actual message, without a care for his partners. This, in turn, leads to the inability of Americans to trust the data coming out of its formerly trustworthy government agencies in charge of such economic statistical analyses. More examples in this podcast! And that leads us to other August 1 announcements such as the one from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting that it will shut down next year. Then there’s the news that convicted sex trafficker & pedophile Ghislaine Maxwell was moved to a “Club Fed” prison after her recent meetings with the U.S. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, Trump’s former criminal attorney in 2024 when Trump was convicted in the NY Stormy Daniels hush money case. What’s becoming clear now also since Uranus entered Gemini on July 7 is the public’s change in perspective. That means a change in opinion, as the Trump/Epstein scandal becomes the monster that just won’t die. Meanwhile those formerly supportive of Trump begin to turn against him as they hope against hope that he will adjust his grip & “release the Epstein files” as Venus quincunxed Pluto August 1 & 2, too. That this is symbolic of the energy of tomorrow’s Aquarius Full Moon square Juno in Scorpio, as Mars opposes both Saturn & Neptune August 8/9 & creates a huge amount of frustration & a sense of impotence a la “but what can I do about any of this?” It's clear that under the SA/NE in Aries energies that boundaries continue to erode. From those between the federal government & the people it’s supposed to represent; the boundaries between federal & state governance; & those between our military—designed to fight an external enemy—who invade our local borders & our city's streets. This becomes even more obvious since the FBI has now been tasked by King Trump to hunt down Texas democratic state legislators who refuse to vote for gerrymandered maps that further curtail the right of Black & brown people to equal representation when it comes to voting. Never mind if it's legal to use federal FBI law enforcement resources this way… The ultimate message of this Aquarius Full Moon, however, is that when we stand together as a group & face the bully, there’s ultimately more power in numbers than in that of a weak, narcissistic wannabe king. Together we stand, divided we fall would be this month’s full Moon message--& that we cannot succeed if we do not even try. Hence, as America government becomes increasingly autocratic, it becomes ever more evident that the only way to stop this is to band together to fight the authoritarian powers that be. Whether that ultimately means masses of people protesting together to get their message across, or worse, is yet to be determined. What’s clear is that now is not the time to back down. However, it’s fine to take a break, especially from social media—much of which under Uranus in Gemini is filled with propagandist BS, even from the left--& withdraw, for a little while. Strengthening our critical thinking skills is what’s it’s all about over the next seven years as Uranus in Mercury provides the ability for sudden revelatory insights as information becomes more a tool of distortion than one of fact. In the short term, as Mercury stations direct in Leo on August 11, we have the ability to regroup, observe & begin to pay attention. As more people become increasingly aware of what’s going on around them, more will join the fight. And what’s most worth paying attention to, according to this Aquarius Full Moon is that none of us is alone in this obvious astrological recurrence of the quest for American independence from tyranny IF we all stick together. Meanwhile, we look at wounded healer Chiron’s retrograde in Aries on July 30 & explore what’s occurred in the collective since, along with how Venus’s entrance into Cancer that day has led to expressions of compassion for those who suffer. Part of the Saturn/Pluto in Capricorn cycle’s global realignment begun in January 2020, this announcement seeks to make the U.S. more isolationist rather than more committed to its previous global trade partners. It also has seriously negative implications for the U.S. economy as a revised job report shows a decrease in unemployment and a rise in the rate of inflation. This week’s podcast illustrates how events since Neptune’s July 4 retrograde & Uranus’s entrance into Gemini July 7 suddenly reveal like lightning strikes that lies & conspiracies can prove to be damaging in the end for those who spread them. Neptune retrograde pulls back the veil on past lies & deceits, exposing the truth, while Uranus in Gemini leads to sudden changes in our perspective & opinions. Take the whole “climate change is a hoax” promoted by fossil fuel & coal companies dependent upon profits to continue to exist rather than take the more progressive & humanitarian route to segueing into clean energy. And then there’s the QAnon conspiracy begun in 2017—which followed Pizzagate from 2016—which sparked the belief in millions of Americans of a pedophile ring run by the “deep state.” Next we have the conspiracy that the 2020 election was “rigged” by Donald Trump, the man who lost it. Leading even more millions of Americans to believe this lie & to the January 6, 2021, Capitol insurrection by protestor who were conned into believing the U.S. presidential election results were a “hoax.” But now, we have seen the “deep state” & it’s being run by the very same people who used to be on the outside claiming they would punish those responsible once they were on the inside. However, NE Rx says “not so much—slow your roll, it’s time for some FACTS to emerge now so we may receive true clarity!” Rumors have begun about the MAGA crowd burning their l’il red caps in disapproval of the U.S. Department of Justice’s--basically run by the White House in direct contrast to the mandated separation of powers in this country—refusal to make public the infamous “Epstein Files.” All this as we’ve been watching the close transit of Saturn & Neptune in Aries dissolve the foundations upon which the truth actually lies. As this government makes more and more funding cuts to programs necessary for its citizens’ survival like FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency—under the guise that such funds fall under the category of “waste, fraud, & abuse”—more people will likely die as positions remain vacant & climate change continues to wreak havoc. Hopefully we will be reviewing the situation between Mercury's station retrograde in Leo from late July 17/early July 18 to August 11, which calls us to use our creative inspiration to find ways to create a better future.
