In this episode of Recovered Life, Chelsea Anderson is joined by Emmy Robbin, a Birthkeeper, Birth Trauma Recovery Coach, Somatic EMDR practitioner and actress from Austin, Texas.

What does pregnancy, birth and medical freedom have to do with sobriety? It turns out, a lot.

Emmy’s wisdom gained through her own birth stories (first a traumatic c-section, then a redemptive HBAC- home birth after cesarean) is invaluable for sober women desiring an autonomous, self-empowered birth experience.

Tune is as Chelsea and Emmy explore:

  • Emmy’s two birth stories
  • birth as a natural, physiological event (not an inherently dangerous, medical event)
  • red flags to look for when choosing a birth attendant and/or medical practitioner during pregnancy
  • the importance of healing personal and generational birth trauma, Emmy’s offerings as a coach and Birth Keeper

Chelsea’s audio cut out toward the end of recording, so the last 10 minutes of this episode conclude with Emmy’s words of encouragement.
