Tilapia, a commonly farmed fish, can pose a dire ecological threat when released into the wild. That’s exactly what happened in this Plaquemines Parish community about 20 years ago, when the fish escaped from a bass pond on a property owned by one of the largest mining companies in the world. Now, the destructive fish is making an unexpected comeback. Chris Schieble, Deputy Director of Fisheries for the State of Louisiana, joins Newell to warn about the dangers of the tilapia fish.
