As the first drag king to join the crew of To Proudly Go, NYC’s nonprofit charity drag show and Star Trek viewing party, Jackson has helped open the doors for even more kings to join the mission.
We chat with Jackson about his journey into cosplay drag, the magic of performing as beloved Trek characters, and why drag and Star Trek are a match made in the final frontier. Plus, we dig into queer and trans representation in the franchise, the legacy of Kirk/Spock fan fiction, and how fandom can be a powerful space for identity and transformation.
