Welcome back to another episode of the Thriving Moms of Autistics Podcast! I am your host, Dr. Christina Wilson.

When I started Thriving Moms of Autistics, it was clear that I needed to support women. Over the years, I focused primarily on moms raising children on the spectrum.

It has been a huge blessing to walk alongside other moms during this time. However, I have been led to expand my walk with women in general, which is so exciting.

In this episode, we dive into some exciting news about the future and the goal to continue serving women.

The goal of Thriving Moms of Autistics has always been to help them feel less isolated and learn ways to use their strengths and use their mindset to navigate the challenges of raising an autistic child.

It’s not easy because moms are faced with some pretty serious challenges.

I have learned that when I create a support system, learn from my mistakes by growing my mindset, set firm boundaries with others who do not understand autism, and use my innate strengths to overcome challenges, I have a healthier well-being, which helps my child.

The last five years have been hard for everyone. The pandemic had a significant impact on the world. It isn’t something you just bounce back from. It takes time, especially because of the increased levels of anxiety and depression.

As a result, we have been left second guessing ourselves more than ever increasing anxiety. People are on edge, which requires firmer boundaries. We tend to get stuck in our heads more than ever leading to more depression.

We are conditioned very early on, which makes it very difficult to change, especially in the midst of chaos. The good news is that we do have capacity for change even after a pandemic.

So, what is next for serving women and supporting their well-being?

I have been led to expand Thriving Moms of Autistics to serve all women. We have some things in common that cannot be ignored.

As women, we struggle with societal expectations. We are expected to sit pretty, be the perfect mom, friend, wife, etc. We are expected to be a certain size and look a certain way.

It’s just not realistic, and it’s not sustainable. Nor is it consistent with who we were meant to be.

When I say “who we were meant to be.” we are going to dial into that in the future. Because when you leave that facade behind and focus on being your authentic self, everything changes.

I am known as the Positive Growth Doctor because of my background in positive psychology and my focus on increasing a healthy well-being.

I help women struggling with perfectionism, comparison, and self-doubt by addressing limiting beliefs, leveraging strengths to show up authentically, deepening the mind-body connection to gain clarity, and build confidence and a healthy well-being.

So after 3 great seasons of the Thriving Moms of Autistics, welcome to Season 1 of the Positive Growth Doctor as we bring all our sisters into the fold and grow together and support one another!

On July 8th, I will launch the Positive Growth Doctor Podcast. So be on the lookout for that on all the popular podcast apps.

In the meantime, join The Women’s Empowerment Group on Facebook. The link is in the comments and transcript.
