Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. Psalms 90:2 The word everlasting is figurative in the Hebrew. It means “from the vanishing point to the vanishing point. God's nature has no beginning or end, exists outside of time, and is the source of time itself. God alone is a place of divine shelter and protection for all those who take refuge in him. This truth comforts believers. God knows all our tomorrows. There are no surprises for Him. While we may face many surprises in life, God is already aware of the joys, tragedies, and even the sins we will commit. He is already grieved by our sins but has a plan to work everything together for good. Knowing a God like this not only makes us want to please Him but also gives us confidence and courage to face the future. God will be there tomorrow, whatever it holds, ready to guide us with His perfect plan.
