The US Senate has passed President Donald Trump's so-called 'big beautiful bill', despite opposition from several Republican lawmakers and billionaire Elon Musk.

The package includes slashing taxes, reducing social safety net programs and boosting military and immigration enforcement spending.

The bill will now return to the House of Representatives, where some Republicans have expressed alarm about adding trillions of dollars to America's national debt.
