Episode Description:

In Week 4 of The Warrior Within, we’re addressing two of the most hidden—and spiritually painful—wounds many trauma survivors carry: moral injury and survivor’s guilt. Whether you're a veteran grappling with what happened in combat, or a civilian struggling with shame after escaping abuse or outliving others, these wounds go beyond the emotional—they cut into the soul.

In this episode, Coach Liz shares the truth: you are not defined by what you saw, did, or survived—you are being refined through recovery.

Key Topics Covered:

  • What is Moral Injury?
Soul-level pain from actions or events that violated your core beliefs
  • What is Survivor’s Guilt?
Deep shame or questioning after surviving something others didn’t
  • The Shame Cycle:
How guilt can spiral into isolation, addiction, self-sabotage, and fear of joy

Spiritual Reflection:

Psalm 103:10 — “He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities.”

You don’t have to carry what Jesus already covered.

Reflection Prompts:

  1. Where do I still feel ashamed for surviving or for decisions made during trauma?
  2. What would it feel like to forgive myself—or accept that I’m already forgiven
