Tiny holes in the sides of trees in Western Australia have marked the arrival of a destructive invader.

The Polyphagous shot-hole borer is a miniscule beetle which has become one of the most concerning invasive species in Australia.

It was first detected in Western Australia in 2021 and concerns are growing the beetle could cross the border to South Australia.
