Tune in as 2CC properly embraces the holiday season with a full month of episodes to go along with that cheery theme! For this first week of December, Robert “Stew” Stewart (STEW World Order) is jumping back into his guest chair for a review and recap of The Nightmare Before Christmas, the 1993 stop-motion animation classic that takes us to Halloween Town and the shenanigans that its beloved king Jack Skellington cooks up after discovering the existence of Christmas. Screenwriter Caroline Thompson’s frustrations with this movie and with the racism behind Oogie Boogie, the important reminder that Henry Selick (and not Tim Burton) directed the film, and a lyric in “Jack’s Obsession” reminding Arthur of The Room stand out as a few of the subjects for this episode.

Directed by Henry Selick, The Nightmare Before Christmas stars Chris Sarandon, Danny Elfman, Catherine O’Hara, William Hickey, Glenn Shadix, Ken Page, Paul Reubens, Edward Ivory, Debi Durst, Greg Proops, Kerry Katz, Randy Crenshaw, Sherwood Bull, Carmen Twillie, Glenn Walters, John Morris, and Joe Ranft.

Spoilers start at 37:40
