Our physical health not only impacts our physical bodies, but it is also directly correlated to our mental health as well.
In this episode Marc and Tavarus discuss their commitments to maintaining healthy lifestyles, how it's positively benefited them individually in life, and how they've managed to stay on the ever evolving journey of staying healthy. They both take there physical health rather seriously and use this episode to encourage others to do the same.
According to Healthypeople.gov:

  • More than 80% of adolescents do not get enough aerobic physical activity to meet the guidelines for youth.
  • Physical activity can lower the risk of
    • Early death
    • Coronary heart disease
    • Stroke
    • High Blood Pressure
    • Type 2 diabetes
    • Breast and colon cancer
    • Falls
    • Depression and more...

Tavarus recently entered and placed first in another duathlon!
Factors that are negatively associated with adult physical health include:

  • Advancing age
  • Low Income
  • Lack of time
  • Rural residency
  • Perception of great effort needed for excellence
  • Overweight or obesity
  • Perception of poor health
  • Being disabled
