This is Ken Ham, inviting you to visit the full-size Noah’s Ark at the Ark Encounter . The earliest fossils are marine ones, then amphibians and reptiles, and finally birds and large mammals. There are exceptions, of course, but that’s the basic order we observe. Evolutionists believe this basic order is because life supposedly arose from a common ancestor and gradually got more complex. But the Bible offers another interpretation. The global flood would’ve buried creatures, starting in the oceans and moving farther inland. The order in the fossil record doesn’t represent different times—it represents different environments. Of course we’d see marine fossils before birds as the floodwaters rose to cover the continents. Dig Deeper Order in the Fossil Record Doesn’t the Order of Fossils in the Rock Record Favor Long Ages?…
This is Ken Ham, a missionary with a passion for God’s Word and the gospel . Humans and apes have similarities: five fingers, opposable thumbs, and even some similarities in DNA. Of course, we also have massive differences! Creationists and evolutionists agree there’s similarity but not why we have similarities. Evolutionists believe apes are our closest living relatives. They think the similarities point to a common ancestor. But we know from God’s Word that humans are created in the image of God distinct from all animals—including apes. We share common features because we have a common Designer. The different interpretations are because of our different starting points. Dig Deeper Do Humans and Chimps Share a Common Ancestor? “Common Design Means Common Ancestry”…
This is Ken Ham, head of the ministry behind the powerful Answers VBS . Creationists and evolutionists can agree on some things such as, well, we don’t know everything. But being a creationist doesn’t mean we just say “well, God did it” and move on. Knowing the Creator makes us want to learn more about what he’s made. Starting with God’s Word, we know there are absolutes such as the creation of earth and the universe by God from nothing, the age of the earth, or the global flood. We use the true history from God’s Word as a framework for interpreting the world around us. So, with that framework in place, we study God’s creation to find answers to some of those things we don’t yet know. Dig Deeper The Bible—“It’s Not Historical” 3 Evidences That Confirm the Bible Is Not Made Up…
This is Ken Ham, author of the newly updated classic, Evolution: The Lie . Evolutionists say that evolution sometimes happens so fast that we can actually observe it. Is this “rapid evolution” the smoking gun? Not at all! What these researchers are observing is natural selection. God created each organism with an incredible amount of genetic variability so they could adapt to new environments. But this process of adaptation, or natural selection, usually causes organisms to lose genetic information. We see organisms changing all the time. But finches remain finches and lizards remain lizards. What we’ve never observed is new information being added to change one kind into another kind. Dig Deeper Has Evolution Really Been Observed? Feedback: Observed Evolution…
This is Ken Ham, author of the book on the flood, geology, and fossils, A Flood of Evidence . Earlier this year radar scans in Greenland revealed an abandoned Cold War military base, buried under one hundred feet of ice in just over fifty years! This is a great reminder that it doesn’t take thousands and thousands of years to accumulate the ice sheets. They can form really quickly! After the global flood of Noah’s day, the conditions were perfect for an ice age. This ice age, and the massive snowstorms it would’ve caused, would’ve formed hundreds of layers very, very quickly. The ice sheets aren’t the result of slow and gradual processes over long ages. They’re the result of the flood and its aftermath! Dig Deeper Do Greenland Ice Cores Show over One Hundred Thousand Years of Annual Layers? Do Ice Cores Show Many Tens of Thousands of Years?…
This is Ken Ham, head of the ministry producing the family-friendly Answers Bible Curriculum . Have you ever been frustrated while cooking when everything sticks to your pan? Well, this problem has frustrated people for centuries. That’s why over two thousand years ago someone invented non-stick frying pans! Yes, researchers discovered pottery pans that feature a non-stick surface. And these pans were made two millennia ago! We often think of ourselves as much more intelligent than our ancestors. But this is an evolutionary view. All humans are made in God’s image. Our ancestors were just as intelligent and innovative as we are. Instead of thinking with an evolutionary view, we need to start with God’s Word. Dig Deeper Ancient Man and Intelligence: Were People Originally Dumb Brutes or Brilliant? Overturning Expectations About Ancient Man…
This is Ken Ham, author of the unique apologetics devotional, Ken Ham Daily . Did you know there are unicorns in the Bible? Not the mythical creatures we think of today—these were real animals the Bible describes alongside dogs, horses, and calves. They’re given as examples of great strength. Now, if they were just legendary creatures, the point would’ve been completely lost. So unicorns were real—but what exactly were they? Well, one strong possibility is an extinct variety of rhinoceros. Such a creature would be strong, powerful, and only have one horn! Whatever the unicorn was, we know it was a real creature that teaches us about the power and strength of the Creator of all things. Dig Deeper Unicorns in the Bible? Unicorns—“More Legit Than You Think”?…
This is Ken Ham, writer , speaker , and blogger on science and God’s Word. Evolutionists often accuse creationists of not being real scientists because we supposedly don’t publish in scientific journals. Now, of course, many creationists actually do publish on all kinds of research topics. And we even have our own journals! But creationists aren’t able to publish articles that mention a Creator or a biblical worldview in secular journals. Why? Because regardless of the quality of the research, any article that references the Creator is immediately rejected. Science has been hijacked by a naturalistic worldview that completely excludes God. But this isn’t science—it’s a philosophical assumption! Dig Deeper The Religion of Naturalism What Is Science?…
This is Ken Ham, author of the book on death and suffering, Divine Dilemma . When God looked at all he made, he said it was “very good.” Now, many Christians believe earth is millions of years old. If this is true, the fossil record shows millions of years of death, suffering, and animals eating each other. Would God look at a creation full of death and call it “very good”? No! Death is the penalty for sin. It’s “the last enemy” and Jesus came to die on the cross to take this penalty for us. A good God certainly wouldn’t call the punishment for sin “very good.” And if death isn’t the penalty for sin, why did Jesus need to come? Death before sin undermines God’s character and the gospel! Dig Deeper Death Is Not Good Two Histories of Death…
This is Ken Ham, a popular speaker on biblical authority at churches and conferences. Jesus treated the accounts from Genesis as real historical events. He affirmed the creation of Adam and Eve, the flood, Abraham, and even Lot and his wife. And Jesus was even a young-earth creationist! When asked about marriage, Jesus replied that “from the beginning of creation God made them male and female.” Evolutionists believe humans came millions of years after the beginning. But Jesus said God created us from the very beginning—that means the earth must be young. You know, Jesus constantly stressed that God’s Word was the authority over man’s ideas and traditions—a lesson every Christian needs to take to heart! Dig Deeper Seven Principles from Genesis for Marriage and Family Marriage Redefined…
This is Ken Ham, inviting you and your family to visit the full-size Noah’s Ark . The idea of millions of years came from an interpretation of the rock layers and fossils. Many Christians think this is the only interpretation, so they try and fit the long ages into the Bible somewhere. But Noah’s flood washes away the long ages! You see, if there really was a global flood, like the Bible says, we should find billions of dead things, buried in rock layers, laid down by water, all over the Earth. And that’s exactly what we find! The flood, not slow processes over millions of years, explains why we have rock layers and fossils. Yes, the Bible’s history, it explains what we see in the world. Dig Deeper Rock Layers—Evidence of Millions of Years or a Global Flood? Noah’s Flood: Washing away Millions of Years…
This is Ken Ham, a contributor to the creation apologetics series The New Answers Books . Many Christians believe they can add millions of years into the Bible. And usually it’s the days of creation that get stretched out to be millions of years long each. But when God gave the Sabbath commandment in Exodus it says, “for in six days the Lord made” everything. God commanded the Israelites to work for six days, and rest for one day. This copies the pattern God established during creation week. If God didn’t create in six days and rest for one, then this command was meaningless. Should we work for millions of years and then rest for a million years? Of course not! You can’t fit millions of years into Genesis! Dig Deeper Why Is a Week Seven Days? Did Jesus Say He Created in Six Literal Days?…
This is Ken Ham, inviting you to learn more about God’s Word at the Creation Museum . Many Christians think Scripture doesn’t say anything about the age of the earth so it could be millions of years old. Now, Scripture doesn’t give us an exact age or it’d be outdated every year! But it does make it clear earth isn’t millions of years old. You see, Genesis one tells us God created everything in six days. Some people try and squeeze millions of years into these days, but the context shows they were ordinary days. In the Old Testament, whenever “day” is used with “evening,” “morning” or a number it always means an ordinary day. Genesis one uses all of these! You simply can’t fit millions of years into Genesis. Dig Deeper Six Literal Days What a Difference a Day Makes!…
This is Ken Ham, inviting you to visit the world-class Ark Encounter in Northern Kentucky. Our world is groaning. Suffering, disease, and natural disasters constantly capture the headlines and intrude into our own lives. And it makes people wonder, “why? Why is there so much death and suffering in our world?” Well, the answers are in Genesis. God created a perfect world but then we sinned. Our sin broke creation, it was no longer “very good.” It’s our sin that brought death, suffering, and disease into the world. But it’s not all bad news. The good news is Jesus came and died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sin and someday he will return and make a new heavens and a new earth where death will be no more. Dig Deeper Why Does God’s Creation Include Death and Suffering? Are Things Getting Worse? (Or Is It Just Your Imagination?)…
This is Ken Ham, CEO of the ministry producing the family-friendly Answers Bible Curriculum . According to evolutionists earth isn’t special. It’s just one planet out of many where life happened to evolve. But evolutionists can’t seem to find all these other supposed earth-like planets, let alone any with life! The more we study, the more we learn that earth is special with just the right conditions for life. Of course, this is exactly what we’d expect starting with God’s Word. Earth was purposely formed for life. And it was to earth that God sent his Son, Jesus. The lack of earth-like planets isn’t a problem for us, but it’s a big problem for evolutionists who desperately need us to not be special. Dig Deeper Just Right for Life What Makes Earth So Unique?…
