Blending Narrative & Combat with "Rising Action"! | Episode 104 | Asians Represent!
Manage episode 482652910 series 2422878
Daniel interviewed Aki, a new game designer based in Tokyo, about their debut game Rising Action!
Rising Action is a roleplaying game for two players where you play a pair of rivals having an ever-escalating battle where their past and passions collide. Inspired by action anime and JRPG cutscenes, it is designed to produce dramatic encounters that can be played in 1-2 hours from character creation to the end of the fight. Rising Action features a game of battle of wits played with a deck of playing cards that frames the scene and prompts players to incorporate exciting imagery and emotion into their description.
