Living with autism isn’t always easy — but with the right tools and strategies, it’s absolutely possible to thrive, not just survive.

In this episode, I share my personal Autism Survival Guide — 10 practical, neurodivergent-friendly strategies that have helped me and many others manage life on the spectrum more effectively. From sensory regulation to emotional self-advocacy, these are tried-and-tested tools for making daily life more manageable and meaningful.

Since being diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome in 2013, I’ve dedicated my life to supporting the autistic community through The Aspie World. This episode includes insights on autism inertia, autism in women, and how to transform challenges into strengths.

💡 10 Survival Strategies Covered:

  1. Buddy up & ask for help

  2. Use apps to boost productivity

  3. Smart tech (Siri, Alexa) to support independence

  4. Recalibrate: know when to pause

  5. Take sensory breaks when needed

  6. Self-advocate — put yourself first

  7. Be honest about how you feel

  8. Focus on gradual change, not instant fixes

  9. Sandwich fun around difficult tasks

  10. Drink water after meltdowns — it helps!
