Today is World Audio Drama Day so we've got a bonus episode for you! Matthew P. Woerner from AudioImagination77 Productions joins JD to talk about one of the most famous radio shows of all-time on the 85th anniversary of its original airing, The War of the Worlds from The Mercury Theatre on the Air. They talk about some of the behind the scenes of the broadcast, its impact on broadcast history, and some of the other work from its director, Orson Welles. And since Matthew released his latest production titled Operator today, they talk about its connection to the Orson Welles broadcast, what inspired him to write the script, working with remote actors for the first time, and more. And then we present the original 1938 broadcast for your listening enjoyment. Happy #WorldAudioDramaDay!
