Interfering Dad Can't Save Daughter from Drunk Driving and Hit and Run Arrest
On Christmas morning 2024, Lacey Police Officers responded to a hit and run single car collision. The driver of a 1996 Honda Accord had crashed into the fence of a townhouse and fled the scene. The homeowner, who called police, described a female wearing all white running away shortly after the accident. Officer Kim located a woman matching the description and attempted to detain her. Her father was nearby and repeatedly told her to go inside the house. He was eventually detained, handcuffed, and placed in the back of a patrol vehicle. Officers detected alcohol coming from breath of the 27-year-old woman.
She submitted to standardized field sobriety tests and was eventually arrested for Driving Under the Influence (DUI) and Hit and Run. At the Lacey police station, she submitted to an evidential breath test and the result was 0.149% BAC. She was later transported to the Nisqually Jail and was bailed out later in the day. All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
