POV: The year is 2008. You've got an iPod classic because it has the most storage. You're blasting "No Air" by Jordan Sparks while Ira Glass is talking about a financial recession on your mom's car radio. Obama may or may not be president. You're wearing a Blood on the Dancefloor T Shirt. It's the best and worst year of your life.

As a new financial recession looms ever closer, Kendall and Ceres wonder about which end of the Aesthetics Ouroboros western culture will crawl out of. In their infinite wisdom, the they-devils have invited local tastemaker and hipster expert, Nicola Fumo, to talk about the aesthetic ouvre of culture in the era of the Great Recession that they lovingly call Austerity Core. In part one, they talk about music, television, and online culture.
