Rent growth cooled again in June, with U.S. asking rents rising just 2.9% year-over-year to $2,069—one of the softest showings for this time of year in recent memory. Zillow’s forecast now projects rent growth slowing even further in 2025: just 2.7% for single-family homes and a meager 1.3% for multifamily units.
