Episode 132 Streamed Live Tuesday March 28,2023 Main TOPIC: Alignment in RPGs Definition: ethical and moral perspective Alignment for role playing games was introduced in Dungeons and Dragons back in the late 1970s and is used in many modern games as well. Players use it as an aid to help in playing their characters consistently. DMs and GMs use it for same purpose NPCs and monsters. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alignment_(Dungeons_%26_Dragons)

In DnD the 9 alignments are a kind of short-hand, used instead of what can be a convoluted code or moral description. However, the description of these alignments can be vague. Many prefer Palladium’s alignments and the do’s and don’ts lists it provides as a more concrete system. https://imgur.com/gallery/DmKvb - Should alignment have mechanical effects? - Tracking character’s alignment…is it a worthwhile activity? - What about character classes or archetypes being required to have a certain alignment? - Favorite System for alignment or would you rather just drop it/ignore it all together. Alignment Languages(DnD): Lawful good, lawful evil, chaotic good, chaotic evil, and neutrality also have common languages spoken by each respectively. One can attempt to communicate through the common tongue, language particular to a creature class, or one of the divisional languages (lawful good, etc.). While not understanding the language, creatures who speak a divisional tongue will recognise a hostile one and attack.

- General thoughts - Do they add value? - Do they seem kind of silly? Campaign Report: Hyperborea We are planning a play through of the game. we are familiarising ourselves with the rules and will give bi-weekly updates on the game focusing on how we like the basic mechanics, the setting, the play of certain classes/races, and the overall grooviness of the tone of the game. Comments on where we are on our read-throughs. Quick Hit - Hard Target: DMPC’s - Yes/No/Maybe Hard No Shameless Plug Time: If you would like to support our show, please like, subscribe, and share us where you are listening or viewing the show.
