Today we are talking about snacking in the dark. Yes, it is a metaphor, also for some of us, not.
We all, I'm sure, have heard a lot about the impact of things we don't look at, or things that we hide from others. There's a lot of data to support the impact, psychologically and physically, on our health, on our social relationships around keeping secrets and not looking at things, hiding things.
And in this episode, we're going to talk a little bit about the subtle ways that we do that with ourselves and how to get free of that, how to shake it off.
Because there's nothing wrong with snacking in the dark if you want to. If you're snacking in the dark and pretending you're not snacking in the dark, that's when it's problematic.
What you'll learn in this episode:

  • How to identify and confront areas of shame in various aspects of life
  • Steps to bring hidden issues into the light
  • Common fears related to making ideas visible and being seen by others
  • Methods to examine beliefs and decide if they align with your values
  • Techniques for visualizing and transforming overwhelming emotions
