He discusses creating the Love4Lucas Foundation in honor of his son Lucas, who was diagnosed with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG). Dr. Peters is then joined by Dr. Paul Fisher, Professor of Neurology and Pediatrics, and by courtesy, Neurosurgery and Epidemiology and Population Health, Beirne Family Professor of Pediatric Neuro-Oncology, Dunlevie Family University Fellow in Undergraduate Education at Stanford University, and Editor-in-Chief of The Journal of Pediatrics. Dr. Fisher explains DIPG and other similar cancers, discusses treatment options, and what new research is being done today.
