Episode Description: Jessica B. Harris may have been born and raised in New York City, but she has Tennessee roots through her father and has spent much of her life split between homes in the Northeast and the South – specifically New Orleans. For more than fifty years, she has been a college professor, a writer, and a lecturer, and her many books have earned her a reputation as an authority on food of the African Diaspora, as well as a lifetime achievement award from the James Beard Foundation. A few years back, Netflix adapted her book, High on the Hog: A Culinary Journey from Africa to America , into a 4 part docuseries. And I’m very proud to say that she’s a longtime contributor to Southern Living with a regular column called The Welcome Table. This episode was recorded in the Southern Living Birmingham studios, and Sid and Jessica talked about her mother’s signature mac and cheese, the cast-iron skillet she’d be sure to save if ever her house were on fire, and her dear friend, the late New Orleans chef Leah Chase. This is an absolute first for me. And yes, I am bragging.

While editing my new one hour special, Dave (the editor) makes a sweeping admission that will shock the world... and his wife. Special will be out later this year. Orny Adams Brain Noise

This is an experiment gone horribly wrong. I am warning you-- this video sucks. I am partially embarrassed to even post it. But I am. Spend the next two minutes doing something else unless you want to help me understand why I am even posting this. I couldn't get these two songs, from my childhood, out of my head. I finally broke down and started watching Dancing with the Stars-- but for one reason-- to watch Apple Computer founder and super super geek Steve Wonziak. THIS is entertainment. But watch the hypocrisy I have uncovered in the computer world. Apple, and believe me nobody drinks the Apple kool-Aid more than me, is lying to us! Orny Adams Brain Noise…
Please support this guy's energy plan. I wrote this concept and then brought it to my friends Adam McKay and Chris Henchy over at funnyordie.com. They got me connected with Lauren Palmigiano who set the whole thing up. (Thank you Lauren!) It was edited by the very talented Drew Antzis. This is the end result. The original ending was written as such-- to include a celebrity but for this one-- but that was not in the cards for this one. Here is what I had in my noisy brain. Orny walks past CELEBRITY on treadmill. Orny Put on a few pounds? The CELEBRITY starts running faster. Orny winks to camera. Orny Useable energy. Orny Adams Brain Noise…
Unbeknownst to me and most of the world (the sane world) there is a group of ardent, outspoken, defensive, devoid of senses of humor badminton fanatics... that are outright mean at times. There is no joking about badminton with these people-- it is their religion. I discovered this when I posted a video questioning the validity of badminton as an Olympic event. And for those of you that know me, it was done with a wink. But now it is on! Here is my reaction to their unrealistic reaction. You'll be shocked to discover what was an Olympic event from 1912-1948 (unless you read the LA Times yesterday.) Enjoy. Take a deep breath badminton fanatics and enjoy this one. I didn't realize liberals were such wimps until I really sat down to think about it... here are my thoughts followed by Obama's latest campaign ad. Orny Adams Brain Noise
