In today's first episode of the year, I sit down with my husband Victor as he opens up about his experiences over the holidays, sharing moments of unexpected grief, memories that hit him deeply, and the emotional processing that comes with letting go of fatherhood. We explore the unique ways men experience and express grief, the challenges of being vulnerable in a partnership, and how we’re working to strengthen our relationship through open communication and shared healing.

We also reflect on the importance of finding joy and meaning in life as a family of two, (three if you count our cat Tula), the role of community and connection in the healing process, and how each of us is striving to grow individually and together.

What we discuss in this episode:

  • How men process grief differently and the impact this has on relationships
  • The importance of open communication and shared vulnerability in a partnership
  • Strategies for finding joy and purpose as a family of two
  • Insights into navigating grief during the holidays and other triggering moments
  • The value of community, chosen family, and connection for emotional support
  • Why focusing on personal growth and acceptance is key to healing
  • How couples can work together to move forward while honoring their individual journeys
