Rev. Dr. Gerald McDermott returns to continue the conversation about Israel and the Church. (To revisit the July 14, 2025, episode, you can find it on our YouTube channel or any of our podcast platforms.) Dr. Tricia Miller, the Partnership’s director, joins in this episode as co-host.
Dr. McDermott teaches at Jerusalem Seminary and the Reformed Episcopal Seminary in Philadelphia. In 2020, he retired from the Anglican Chair of Divinity at Beeson Divinity School in Birmingham, AL. Previously, he was the Jordan-Trexler Professor of Religion at Roanoke College, where he taught courses for 26 years in the history of Christianity and Christian theology of world religions. He has written, co-written, or edited 25 books and hundreds of articles. Dr. McDermott and his wife Jean attend Holy Cross Anglican in Crozet, VA, where he serves as priest-in-residence. He lectures and podcasts frequently. Two of Dr. McDermott’s books addressed in this episode are Understanding the Jewish Roots of Christianity and A New History of Redemption.
