David Shambaugh, author of the new book, Breaking the Engagement: How China Won & Lost America, discusses the evolution of U.S.-China relations from the 1970s to today’s escalating trade war and evaluates the legacy of engagement. The C.V. Starr & Co. Annual Lecture on China was established in 2018 to honor the trailblazing career of C.V. Starr and the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of C.V. Starr & Co., Maurice R.
