On December 20, four days before Christmas 1987, an overloaded Filipino passenger ferry collided with a fully loaded oil tanker in what would become the deadliest peacetime maritime disaster to date. We will get into the background of both ships, survivor testimony, the sinking, and the aftermath. This is the blazing end of the Doña Paz.
