In Psalm 83, Asaph calls on God to defend His name against enemies who seek to erase Israel from the earth—a cry still echoed today. But the heart of this day’s reading is found in 1 Kings 3, where Solomon, just beginning his reign, is visited by God in a dream and given a choice. Instead of riches or vengeance, Solomon asks for wisdom. His humility and dependence on God shape the start of his leadership—and remind us that true influence begins with seeking God's heart. Every leader needs wisdom, and God is ready to give it.
