God Shows Amos Visions of Judgment | Day 173
Manage episode 490163919 series 3625929
Day 173 | Amos 7:1–9:15; 2 Kings 14:28-29; 2 Kings 15:8-29, 6-7; 2 Chronicles 26:22-23; Isaiah 6:1-13
In today’s reading, we watch two prophets step into history—one a humble shepherd, the other a royal insider. Amos sees terrifying visions of judgment but pleads with God to relent—and God listens. Despite rejection by the king, Amos boldly proclaims Israel’s exile, yet ends his message with hope: God will restore David’s fallen house. Then we meet Isaiah, who sees the Lord in all His glory and answers the divine call: “Here I am. Send me.” But God’s message is sobering—Isaiah will speak, but the people will not respond. It’s a powerful reminder that God calls us not to success, but to faithful obedience.
