It was by cultivating his garden, armed with a horticultural background, that Richard Hartlage became an acclaimed landscape designer. His agency, Land Morphology, based in Seattle, USA, carries out projects throughout the United States. For example Land Morphology has been working since 2015 on the master plan for the Leach Botanical Garden in Portland, Oregon.

In this issue of Com d'Archi, Richard Hartlage is interviewed by Anne-Charlotte and Esther, an opportunity to discover his self-taught path, his projects and his view on current events. An opportunity for us, at a time when the climate "rumbles", or humanity feels threatened, to discover an unusual work and to get out of the clichés. Because this interview realized in duplex New-York - Paris, after the one of Pierre Thibault, teaches us more about the way the landscape is apprehended on the North American territory!
