The Kennedy Forum is a national non-profit organization formed by former U. S. Congressman Patrick J. Kennedy in 2013 to erase the stigma of mental illness in the United States, and to ensure mental health parity, so that mental health is treated the same way as physical health for reimbursement by insurance companies.
Veterans who receive their healthcare through their employer need to know that the Mental Health Parity Act of 2008 mandates the insurance companies pay for mental health treatment the same as they would for a physical health treatment.
