In Syracuse, New York, five underclassmen on the Westhill High School Lacrosse team are excited when older teammates invite them to go to watch a rival school's lacrosse match and have dinner at McDonalds. After watching the match, the boys are on the way home when the driver of the car appears to get lost and pulls over. Masked marauders armed with at least one knife and possibly a gun suddenly appear from a wooded area and attempt to kidnap the five boys. Four evade capture, but the masked men catch one of the boys.

Out numbered 11 to one, the boy's hands are tied and a pillowcase is placed over his head before he is thrown into the trunk of a car at knifepoint. The kidnappers taunt the boy as they drive to another secluded, wooded area of the county and dump him on the ground, a nightmare as the boy is left alone, in fear for his life.

Dumped in the middle of nowhere with his hands tied and pillowcase over his head, the boy hears his attackers coming back. He doesn't know if they have come back to kill him or let him go, when the kidnappers tell him it is all a gag. The assailants are the upperclassmen on the Lacrosse team hazing the underclassmen. The entire incident is captured on video.

The next morning the victim's family reports the incident to the school as video of the event is being shared by students and rumors of the mock kidnapping are creating a social media firestorm in the community. An investigation begins when the school resource officer reports the incident to the Sheriff's office.
