Daf Yomi Avodah Zarah 37

Episode 2029

Rabbi Yehudah Nesiah was going to permit also the bread of non Jews. However, he was concerned for his reputation—that he would be known as being overly permissive, since he had already permitted the oil of non Jews. This was supported by the fact that Rabbi Yose of Tzereda had gained a repuation for being overly permissive, when he had permitted too many Rabbinic decrees. Most of daf 37 discusses decress that were permitted by both Rabbi Yehudah Nesiah, as well as Rabbie Yose of Tzereda.
